This vintage scalloped bowl, circa 1920's, sports the badge of the Atlantic Transport Line, an American owned, but British operated steamship company established in the late 1880's with routes between New York and Great Britain.
The inautical flag and insignia of the shipping line sits prominently in the center, interior of the bowl.
We love this bowl for nuts and olives at cocktail time, lemon and lime wedges on a bar, candies or chocolate truffles at dessert time or on a vanity as a catch-all for jewelry.
It's a stand-out piece due to its appealing shape and history aboard ships on the high seas.
The vintage offerings in our collection are restored and re-plated in pure silver in London for us by our longtime silversmiths. Even with restoration, some of the pieces may sport more patina than others due to their unique history and use which we think only adds to their character and allure.
