This is a true collectible and rare find!

A vintage soufflé dish (can be used as a serving bowl), made by Mappin & Webb Silversmiths, for the dining rooms of The House of Commons in London. The portcullis badge of this iconic institution is stamped on the front and center. Circa 1930's.  Imagine the animated conversations of the members of Parliament  around the dining tables while being served from this bowl in this historic venue.

This piece has the signature weight of classic European hotel silver -  designed to withstand daily use in bustling establishments.  We love this handled deep serving piece filled with fruit on a kitchen counter, island or as a centerpiece at the table.  It's the perfect size for serving warm whipped potatoes, grilled vegetables, a rice dish - even used as a bread dish filled with warmed rolls or pop overs lined with a starched white napkin.

The vintage offerings in our collection are restored and re-plated in pure silver in London for us by our longtime silversmiths. Even with restoration, some of the pieces may sport more patina than others due to their unique history and use which we think only adds to their character and allure.
