Vintage 14" Oval Platter, "P&O" Shipping Line

This vintage 14" oval platter sports the initials "P&O" of The Peninsular & Orient Navigation Company, a British shipping line founded in the mid 19th Century to deliver mail to India and East Asia. Later, it became one of the most glamorous ocean liner companies on the water. 

We love this handsome platter's streamlined design.

It's the perfect size for serving hors d'oeuvres, a side dish at dinner, a spread of cookies and sweet treats for dessert or glasses of refreshing cocktails. 

When not in use for entertaining, this platter adds a touch of chic when displayed upright against a kitchen or bar backsplash.

The vintage offerings in our collection are restored and re-plated in pure silver in London for us by our longtime silversmiths. Even with restoration, some of the pieces may sport more patina than others due to their unique history and use which we think only adds to their character and allure.
