Vintage 9.5" Scalloped, Engine-Turned Pedestal Cake Stand

This vintage pedestal cake stand caught our eye because of its graceful scalloped shape and stunning engine-turned design pattern on the plate.

We leave them out on the kitchen counter where deposited fresh fruit from the market becomes an instant still life or centerpiece for the kitchen table. Of course, it's the perfect piece for serving a tart, cake or cookies. Adds interest and height to any buffet.  When not in use we love it on open kitchen shelves for its sculptural appeal.

The vintage offerings in our collection are restored and re-plated in pure silver in London for us by our longtime silversmiths. Even with restoration, some of the pieces may sport more patina than others due to their unique history and use which we think only adds to their character and allure.
