Vintage 14" Oval Tray, Naval Canteen Service

This Vintage 14" Oval Tray, circa 1930's,  sports the anchored badge "NCS" of the British Naval Canteen Service.  The "NSC" provided refreshments and meals to officers and sailors' "messes" where they dined.

It's the perfect size for serving drinks or hors d'oeuvres at cocktail time, tea or coffee, aa side dish on a buffet or as an eye-catching serving piece for  cookies, bars, chocolates or pastries at dessert time. 

When not in use for entertaining, it would look stunning standing upright against a kitchen or bar backsplash.

It's especially accessory for home near the water with its emblem as a nod to all things nautical. o

The vintage offerings in our collection of European hotel silver and barware are restored and re-plated in pure silver in London for us by our longtime silversmiths. Even with restoration, some of the pieces may sport more patina than others due to their unique history and use which we think only adds to their character and allure.
