Vintage 17.25" Oval Platter, Royal Navy Academy, Italy

This Vintage Platter was crafted by Italy's renowned, 200 year old silver manufacturer Broggi to be used in the dining rooms of Italy's Royal Navy Academy.

The top rim of the platter sports the insignia "Regia Accadamia Navale" - the prestigious military academy based in Livorno, Tuscany where naval officers have trained since the 1880's.

It's a collectible piece of vintage European hotel silver to enjoy today for serving main dishes on a buffet, an array of delectable hors d'oeuvres, pastries or glasses of cocktails.

When not in use for entertaining, this streamlined tray, with its unique history and maritime badge, would look stunning kept upright against a kitchen or bar backsplash to add a touch of silver chic to the room.

The vintage offerings in our collection of European hotel silver & barware are restored and re-plated in pure silver in London by our longtime silversmiths. Even with restoration, some of the pieces may sport more patina than others due to their unique history and use which we think only adds to their character and allure.
