Vintage Grand Platter, Park Lane Hotel, London

This Vintage Grand Platter, circa 1930's, is a statement piece for entertaining.

It was handcrafted for the iconic Park Lane Hotel by Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Co., a London maker of luxury silverware established in the 1890's. The top rim sports the elegant monogram of this historic hospitality property located in Mayfair.

We love the appealing shape of this platter and its beaded, reeded and laurel leaf outer rims which add an elegant finishing touch.

This generously proportioned platter is distinguished by its hefty weight which is a signature characteristic of coveted and collectible vintage European hotel silver.  

It's perfect for serving a large roasted turkey or platter of sliced filet mignon.

When not in use for entertaining. we like to keep large vintage platters upright against a kitchen or bar backsplash, or open shelving for a touch of silver chic and reflection in the room. 

The vintage offerings in our collection and European hotel silver and barware are restored and re-plated in pure silver in London by our longtime silversmiths. Even with restoration, some of the pieces may sport more patina than others due to their unique history and use which we think only adds to their character and allure.
