Vintage Oval 8" Dish

This Vintage 8" Oval Dish is stamped "The Chester, E.P." on its base, indicating it was authenticated in Chester, a town in the northwest of England that tested and verified  the purity and weight of silver pieces for centuries. This assayer office location in Chester closed in the early 1960's.

We love this dish with its sleek flat rims for serving cocktail time nibbles or to be used on a desktop for paperclips, or a dresser-top as catch-all for cufflinks or jewelry.

The vintage offerings in our collection of European hotel silver and barware are restored and re-plated in pure silver in London by our longtime silversmiths. Even with restoration, some of the pieces may sport more patina than others due to their unique history and use which we think only adds to their character and allure.
