Vintage Pair of Lunch Knives, Italy

These Vintage Lunch Knives were made for the deluxe Excelsior Hotel in Rome, formerly part of the historic "CIGA" portfolio of luxury Italian hospitality properties developed in the early 1900's. 

Imagine these knives atop one's room service tray with starched white linens with the morning sun streaming through the windows overlooking the Spanish Steps. Or, used for dining in the elegant lobby restaurant - wood paneled with marble flooring and waiters bustling about the white linen topped tables.

Today, we'd use these stunning knives as chic spreaders for jam on morning toast, paired with one of a kind vintage lunch forks for salad or with cheese and crackers at cocktail time. 

We adore the unique, Deco design of the handles with the hotel name "Excelsior" beautifully engraved in an elegant font.

These are keepsakes - classic, collectible vintage European hotel silver - full of character and charm from its history of use.
