Vintage Oval Basket with Pierced Stars

This vintage bread dish is an eye-catching favorite with the substantial, signature weight of collectible vintage European hotel silver.

We love detail of the angled sides of the basket with its pierced star pattern.  The touch of a small beaded rim adds an elegant finishing touch.

Originally designed to serve warmed rolls, sliced bread, breakfast pastries or pop overs with a starched white napkin.

Today, we also love to use a bread dish as a chic "catch-all" for mail on a desk or on an entry table in a foyer.  It's a chic vessel to fill with fruit on a kitchen counter or as an instant centerpiece. 

The vintage offerings in our collection are restored and re-plated in pure silver in London for us by our longtime silversmiths. Even with restoration, some of the pieces may sport more patina than others due to their unique history and use which we think only adds to their character and allure.
