Vintage 9" Compote with Pierced Gallery

This Vintage 9" Pedestal Compote makes a stunning statement wherever it's placed for entertaining or decorating.

When stacked with pears, apples, citrus or grapes, it becomes an instant centerpiece for the table, kitchen island or kitchen counter.  At holiday time, we envision it stacked with tree ornaments or pomander spheres made of clove-studded oranges.

The depth of its bowl is 1.5" allowing ample surface for serving pastries, cookies or savory bites such as cheese gougères - French cheese puffs. Its height elevates whatever treat is displayed and this compote becomes a focal point on a buffet or table top.

When not in use for entertaining, the compote is a chic silver accessory to leave out on the kitchen counter or open shelving in the kitchen for its sculptural appeal.

The vintage offerings in our curated collection of vintage European hotel silver and barware are restored and re-plated in pure silver in London by our longtime silversmiths. Even with restoration, some of the pieces may sport more patina than others due to their unique history and use which we think only adds to their character and allure.
