This stunning saucier with attached oval plate sports the badge "SA" of the French ocean liner from the "Compagnie de Navigation Sud-Atlantique."  Circa 1930's.

With routes from France throughout the Southern Atlantic Ocean, this sauce boat was used by white gloved waiters in the dining rooms of the sleek ocean liners to serve sauces to accompany entrée dishes aboard ship.

We love the appealing shape of this classic collectible piece of European hotel with its signature hefty weight and elegant silhouette.

Today, we love to use it to serve fresh whipped cream or hot fudge sauce at dessert time, warmed maple syrup at breakfast - as well as chutney, cranberry sauce and warmed sauces and gravy at the dinner table or on a buffet.

When not in use for entertaining, it looks beautiful kept out on open shelving.

We have a pair of these stunning sauciers.

The vintage offerings in our collection are restored and re-plated in pure silver in London for us by our longtime silversmiths. Even with restoration, some of the pieces may sport more patina than others due to their unique history and use which we think only adds to their character and allure.
