Chic Alpine style!

This beautiful vintage round platter is from the deluxe Hôtel des Alpes in Chamonix, France (situated at the base of Mont Blanc, the highest summit in the Alps).

The hotel's origins go back to 1840 when climbers, many of them British aristocrats, were guests of the hotel and accomplished major summits with the services of local guides. The 1924 Olympics in Chamonix put the spot light on the sport of skiing and Mont Blanc, where France, Switzerland and Italy meet on the map.

We love the beautifully engraved "Hôtel des Alpes Chamonix" on the rim of the platter.

This platter, a piece of alpine history, is the perfect size for serving hors d'oeuvres, sandwiches, roasted vegetables and sweets. When not in use for entertaining, it would looks fabulous against a kitchen or bar backsplash.

The vintage offerings in our collection are restored and re-plated in pure silver in London for us by our longtime silversmiths. Even with restoration, some of the pieces may sport more patina than others due to their unique history and use which we think only adds to their character and allure.
