This exquisite Vintage 12 1/2" Oblong Gallery Tray, circa 1930's, was crafted by the renowned Elkington Silversmiths for the elegant dining rooms of The Dorchester on Park Lane in London.  A rare find.

Opened in 1931 in Mayfair, overlooking Hyde Park, The Dorchester quickly became synonymous with glamour and sophistication. Nearly a century later, it remains one of the capital's most celebrated hotel addresses—a place where generations of illustrious guests have gathered to dine, stay, and be seen.

The tray is evocative of that golden age. Its graceful Neoclassical ribbon and reed border continues around the curved handles, while the center bears The Dorchester's elegant laurel-wreathed "D" monogram.

Perfectly scaled for serving cocktails, tea, coffee, hors d'oeuvres or dessert.  When not entertaining, its polished surface would lend a chic touch of silver to a vanity.

This genuine piece of collectible vintage European hotel silver is evocative of the romance of a bygone era when travel was an art and a grand hotel was part of the adventure.

The vintage offerings in our collection of European hotel silver & barware are restored and re-plated in pure silver in London by our longtime silversmiths. Even with restoration, some of the pieces may sport more patina than others due to their unique history and use which we think only adds to their character and allure.
