Vintage 11" Bread Basket, Ritz Hotel Paris

A rare find, these Vintage Bread Baskets (we have two), circa 1960s, bear the RITZ PARIS stamp on the underside, reflecting their distinguished heritage. They were crafted by Orfevrerie de France.

Re-plated in pure silver in London for us, they've been restored to their original brilliance with the refinement associated with one of the world's most iconic hotels.

We adore the design of these baskets with their exquisite pierced, open-work details and scalloped rim. 

They were originally used for room service and in the restaurants of the hotel with a starched white napkin to serve warmed rolls, bread, croissants or pastries.

Today, in addition to serving pastries, we use vintage bread dishes as a chic accessory on a vanity with rolled hand towels, in the kitchen with fresh fruit, on a desktop filed with favorite stationery or table in an entry hall for mail.

The vintage offerings in our collection are restored and re-plated in pure silver in London for us by our longtime silversmiths. Even with restoration, some of the pieces may sport more patina than others due to their unique history and use which we think only adds to their character and allure.
