Vintage 12" Deco Platter, Strand Hotel

This vintage 12" oval platter, circa 1930's, is from the Strand Hotel in London.  It's distinguished by a handsome Deco border and stamped STRAND HOTEL on the backside.

We love this size tray for hors d'oeuvres, to pass a side dish at lunch or dinner, and to serve cookies and other sweets on a buffet.  When not in use for entertaining, we love the look of oval trays leaning against a kitchen or bar backsplash or on open kitchen shelving. The upright trays create an appealing visual backdrop.

The vintage offerings in our collection are restored and re-plated in pure silver in London for us by our longtime silversmiths. Even with restoration, some of the pieces may sport more patina than others due to their unique history and use which we think only adds to their character and allure.
