Vintage 18" Oval Platter/Tray, "Grosvenor House"

This Vintage 18" Oval Platter was made by Walker & Hall Silversmiths for the historic Grosvenor House Hotel located in Mayfair in London.

The deluxe property's badge adorns the top rim of this collectible serving piece. It sports the signature heft of collectible vintage European hotel silver. Circa 1930's.

This is one of those trays you will reach for again and again for entertaining.  Perfect size for serving coffee, tea, cocktails, hors d'oeuvres, a main dish, an assortment of cookies, berries and bars for dessert.

When not in use for entertaining, we love to keep oval platters upright against the back of open kitchen shelves to add height to a display of favorite stacked dishes and bowls - or against a backsplash to add a bit of silver chic and reflection in the room. They always add an appealing visual backdrop.

The vintage offerings in our European hotel silver collection are restored and re-plated in pure silver in London for us by our longtime silversmiths. Even with restoration, some of the pieces may sport more patina than others due to their unique history and use which we think only adds to their character and allure.
