We adore this Vintage 2 1/2 Cup Teapot with its ball finial and graceful spout. It was made by Walker & Hall Silversmiths, renowned for their quality craftsmanship of hotel silver. Circa 1930's.
This pot was used aboard the ships of the British Anchor Line. Established in Scotland in the 1850s as a merchant shipping company, the line evolved into a cruise line known for their sleek passenger ships and good value.
The nautical badge of the Anchor Line sits prominently on front of the pot.
This restored teapot transforms a morning or afternoon cup of steaming Earl Grey into an occasion - reminiscent of room service or teatime aboard an ocean liner or in the lobby of an elegant London hotel.
The silver helps keep the tea piping hot. When not pouring a beverage, we love to use vintage tea pots as unexpected vessels for fresh garden flowers, cut down to size.
The vintage offerings in our European hotel silver collection are restored and re-plated in pure silver in London for us by our longtime silversmiths. Even with restoration, some of the pieces may sport more patina than others due to their unique history and use which we think only adds to their character and allure.
