This Vintage Bowl was made by Elkington Silversmiths, known for their quality craftsmanship of hotel silver, for use in the dining rooms aboard the luxury ocean liners of the iconic Cunard Line.
It's a true collectible from the era of elegant transatlantic crossings. Circa 1930's. The badge of the Cunard Line is stamped on the bottom of the bowl.
We adore the timeless silhouette of this bowl and its Deco reeded rims.
This bowl is the perfect size to serve everything from dips with crudité, guacamole, salsa, nuts, olives, cut-up lemons and limes on a bar, cookies, to crackers.
It doubles as a streamlined coaster for a bottle of wine, champagne of water to set upon the table or bar set-up. This bowl would add a touch of Deco silver chic on a desk top or coffee table.
The vintage offerings in our collection of European hotel silver & barware are restored and re-plated in pure silver in London by our longtime silversmiths. Even with restoration, some of the pieces may sport more patina than others due to their unique history and use which we think only adds to their character and allure.
