Vintage 8.5" P&O Shipping Line Oval Dish

This vintage oval dish sports the badge of The Peninsular & Orient Navigation Company, a British shipping line founded in the mid 19th century to deliver mail to India and East Asia. Later, it became known as one of the most glamorous fleets of British ocean liners. This dish is just the right size to serve nuts or olives at cocktail time, for lemons and limes on a bar set-up, a trio of beautiful soaps in a powder room, on a vanity for jewelry, upon a desktop for paperclips. A storied collectible with multiple uses.

The vintage offerings in our collection are restored and re-plated in pure silver in London for us by our longtime silversmiths. Even with restoration, some of the pieces may sport more patina than others due to their unique history and use which we think only adds to their character and allure.
