Vintage Creamer, CIGA, Italy

We adore this Vintage Creamer that hails from the legendary Italian "CIGA" luxury hotel company (Compagnia Italiana Grandi Alberghi). A rare find.

Founded in 1906 in Venice, the CIGA portfolio of hospitality properties set the standard for luxury travel accommodations in Italy.  Some of the renowned hotels in the portfolio included the iconic Danieli, The Gritti and The Excelsior in Venice, The Principe di Savoia in Milan and The Cristallo in the alpine destination of Cortina. 

Circa 1930's, this creamer (engraved with the CIGA monogram) sports the gentle patina from its history of luxe service in the marble-floored, bustling restaurants of these iconic grand hotels.

In addition to serving milk from this pitcher for coffee or teatime, we also love to serve warmed maple syrup or hot fudge sauce from creamers.  They're a staple on our kitchen for s small bunch of fresh herbs - or a bedside table with a small arrangement of flowers

The vintage offerings in our European hotel silver collection are restored and re-plated in pure silver in London for us by our longtime silversmiths. Even with restoration, some of the pieces may sport more patina than others due to their unique history and use which we think only adds to their character and allure.
