Vintage Deco Coffee Pot, P&O

This Vintage Coffeepot, circa 1950's, was made by Mappin & Webb Silversmiths, renowned for their refined craftsmanship of silver-plated hotel serving ware for Europe's finest restaurants, hotels, railway companies, and luxury ocean liners.

With its Deco-inspired, streamlined silhouette, this handsome piece bears the initials "P&O" of the historic British Peninsular & Orient (P&O) Steam Navigation Company—widely regarded as the world's first cruise line. 

One can imagine a morning at sea: crisp white linens, attentive waiters serving coffee from polished silver pots, and the gentle sounds of fine bone china and crystal as guests lingered over breakfast while crossing the ocean in timeless style.

Today, one can transform breakfast at home into an occasion with this vintage pot.  It generously pours 4 3/4 cups of coffee - perfectly sized for entertaining.

Rich in history and style, this coffeepot is a coveted collectible piece of vintage European hotel silver -  a tangible reminder of the era of luxe ocean travel. 

While re-plated in pure silver and gleaming, the handle sports a subtle indentation from its history of service aboard ship.

The vintage offerings in our collection of European hotel silver and barware are restored and re-plated in pure silver in London by our longtime silversmiths. Even with restoration, some of the pieces may sport more patina than others due to their unique history and use which we think only adds to their character and allure.
