Vintage Dish with Pierced Drain

This Vintage Dish with its pierced, removable drain was designed to serve butter at the dining table. Shaved ice in the bottom of the bowl kept butter pats chilled upon the pierced drain.

Today, we love to use this handsome bowl to serve nuts or olives at cocktail time, fill with sliced lemons or limes on a bar set-up, or filled with chocolates at dessert time.

The vintage offerings in our collection are restored and re-plated in pure silver in London for us by our longtime silversmiths. Even with restoration, some of the pieces may sport more patina than others due to their unique history and use which we think only adds to their character and allure.
