Vintage Double-Pour Sauce Boat

This Vintage Sauce Boat with its attached oval platter was made by Wiskemann, the renowned Belgian silver company known for their craftsmanship of quality hotel silver.

It sports the classic lines and signature weight of collectible vintage European hotel silver.

We adore the elegant and graceful silhouette of this serving piece with its unusual double-pour design, enabling the server to pour from either lip of the vessel.

This sauce boat was originally designed to serve hot gravy at the table. 

Today, we love to use sauce boats for serving gravy, hot fudge sauce, warmed maple syrup, a homemade dip for poached salmon or grilled steak - as well as fresh whipped cream to accompany dessert.

It’s a stunning addition to open shelving in the kitchen when not in use for entertaining due to its sculptural appeal.

The vintage offerings in our collection of European hotel silver & barware are restored and re-plated in pure silver in London by our longtime silversmiths. Even with restoration, some of the pieces may sport more patina than others due to their unique history and use which we think only adds to their character and allure.
