This Vintage Ice Bucket sports the iconic anchor badge of the historic British "Orient Steam Navigation Company." Originally known for its transoceanic mail service when it was established in the early 1800's, the fleet evolved in the 20th century to include luxury passenger travel.
Made by renowned Mappin & Webb Silversmiths, these buckets were used aboard the deluxe ocean liners of The Orient Line in the 1950's. We were able to source only 2 of these handsome buckets.
The bucket is hefty in weight - a signature characteristic of collectible vintage European hotel silver. We adore the octagonal knob handles and ribbed banding.
It's the perfect size to fill with ice for assembling drinks on a bar. When not entertaining, it doubles as a chic vessel for a potted plant or fresh flowers.
The vintage offerings in our curated collection of vintage European hotel silver and barware are restored and re-plated in pure silver in London by our longtime silversmiths. Even with restoration, some of the pieces may sport more patina than others due to their unique history and use which we think only adds to their character and allure.
