Vintage Savoy Hotel Platter

This substantial vintage platter from the luxurious Savoy Hotel in London is a true collectible. Its graceful lines and deep bowl make it a stand-out, elegant piece of history. Circa 1930's, this platter, no doubt, served many an esteemed guest that flocked to this iconic hotel overlooking the Thames. Opened in 1889, it was London's first "purpose-built deluxe hotel, setting new standards for luxury, comfort and service unheard of in the hotel world of the day." While re-plated in pure silver in London for us, it still sports the patina of its history of use in its elegant eateries. When not in use serving a fabulous main dish, we envision this platter kept upright against a kitchen or bar backsplash or on open shelving to showcase this timeless piece. The vintage offerings in our collection are restored and re-plated in pure silver in London for us by our longtime silversmiths. Even with restoration, some of the pieces may sport more patina than others due to their unique history and use which we think only adds to their character and allure.
